droughtThe month of October is ending on a relatively dry note after starting with a large amount of rain in the Raccoon River Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie Center received 0.7 inch of rain this past week, while just a trace of precipitation fell in both Perry and Jefferson.

Jefferson ends the month with a total of 3.65 inches of rain, compared to their normal monthly total of 2.44.

Perry received just under 5.6 inches, when they usually see around 2.4 inches as well.

Guthrie Center had the most rain this month with more than six inches received, far more than their average amount of 2.6 inches.
