Everyone is invited to celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s Greene County 4-H’ers at this weekend’s awards ceremony.
Greene County ISU Extension Coordinator Michael Cooley says they hold a ceremony every year to recognize those 4-H’ers who fill out their record books which identifies what activities and events a 4-H’er participated in as well as any competition and results they received throughout the year. Of the 175 eligible 4-H’ers in the county, about 50 completed record books this year.
He talks about some of the other awards that are given out during the free public event.
“We also do a lot of recognition of 4-H volunteers at the ceremony as well. So (I) encourage the public to come and attend of course parents and family members come check things out. We’ll also be recognizing a lot of donors and sponsors that help make the Greene County 4-H program possible year in and year out.”
There are over 200 Greene County 4-H’ers which includes Clover Kids that are the third graders as well as the 4th-12th grade regular program.
It will be at the Greene County High School auditorium in Jefferson at 2pm on Sunday, November 2nd. A reception with refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
