High speed workouts like CrossFit have taken the nation by storm, but are such high intensity movements safe for everybody? The experts at Guthrie County and ISU Extension say they can be, if you follow the right guidelines. They say it’s important to check with your doctor before starting any new workouts, especially if you’re currently physically inactive. Secondly, they advise finding a certified personal trainer, or licensed gym where you can learn proper technique to avoiding injuring yourself. Thirdly, they say, and especially with high intensity, fast workouts like CrossFit, don’t overexert yourself, and also be sure to stretch, watch your form, and warm up by gradually increasing the intensity of your workout.
