Hundreds, if not thousands, of kids will be dressed up as their favorite character tomorrow as they go door-to-door or business-to-business picking up treats for the annual Begger’s Night tradition.

But students at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Perry will be spending their evening gathering more than just candy.

Principal Doug Latham says this is the second year the kids will be trick-or-treating for Mary’s Meals, a global organization that aims to help provide food for children in need.

Students will be going door-to-door from 6-7pm Thursday asking for donations to put in their Mary’s Meals blue cups.

Latham says the goal is to raise $5,258, enough to successfully build a school kitchen in an African community.

We’ll have more with Latham on today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on AM 1310 KDLS.
