The Thomas Jefferson Gardens would like to invited everyone to their first-ever Fall Gala, next Sunday, September 28th at their location on the southeast corner of the downtown square in Jefferson.
President Tom Polking says the event will start with the playing of the National Anthem by Wayne Lautner, then there will be a short presentation by Wallace Teagarden, who created the Thomas Jefferson statue that is now in The Gardens. Ava Schilling will perform a routine called, “You Can’t Get A Man With A Gun”, plus there will be the planting of the garden by executive director Jean Walker, a performance by Karen Polking, Von Ketelsen, two other musical performances by Wayne Lautner, an appearance by Thomas Jefferson and information about the wooden plow that is also on The Gardens.
Polking notes that all five gardens were planted this past spring and people can enjoy each one along with the other attractions at The Gardens.
Tickets for the event are $15 for adults, $5 for students and children ages six and under are free. Admission includes sampling of cheeses and meats along with all the great entertainment.
Polking adds that they are requesting donations to add to their endowment which is what they will use for continued maintenance of The Gardens.
