A deputy was dispatched to 230th Street and T Avenue for a car-deer accident. Brenda Elizabeth Gutierrez 39, of Perry, Iowa, was westbound on 230th Street when a deer ran onto the roadway at T Avenue and was struck by the Gutierrez vehicle. Brenda Gutierrez was not injured but her 2007 Toyota car sustained $8500 in damages.
The sheriff was asked to check the welfare of two females at a residence in the 1300 block of 270th Street. The females were not located at that time.
A Jefferson Police Officer and the sheriff checked the report of a fire in the 1500 block of 252nd Street. It was determined that the land owner was cleaning brush and other debris after the storm.
The animal control officer spoke with a dog owner in the 500 block of 11th Street in Grand Junction about his dog running at large. The owner was warned that citations will be issued in the future.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a possible intoxicated driver leaving Grand Junction and possibly traveling to Jefferson. A Jefferson Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle described and subsequently arrested Stacia Marie Day 26, for OWI 1st Offense, Child Endangerment and Operation of a Motor Vehicle While Suspended.
A deputy and the sheriff assisted the Jefferson Fire Department and Greene County Emergency Medical Services with a female in the 200 block of First Street in Cooper that needed to be transported to the Greene County Medical Center.
A deputy was unable to locate several dirt bikes reported to be operating erratically at the Raccoon River boat ramp on Jordan Avenue.
A deputy spoke with the owner of an unoccupied vehicle that developed a flat tire on E Avenue just north of 250th Street. The owner stated that he will be finding another tire and the pickup will be removed Friday morning.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office advised a Greene County deputy of a possible intoxicated driver that may be returning to Greene County. The vehicle was later located at a residence in the 2400 block of 180th Street. The driver was not found with the vehicle.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
