A deputy was dispatched to the 700 block of Lincoln Street in Scranton to help mediate a verbal altercation involving three adults.
A deputy spoke with a Paton resident about a dog running at large and barking at people walking.
A deputy was dispatched to 295th Street and S Avenue for a reported vehicle in the ditch. The driver was not with the vehicle upon the deputy’s arrival. After an investigation, the deputy issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control to Jonas Steven Eberle 20, of Jefferson.
A deputy responded to the report of a yearling bull running at large on the roadway at A Avenue and 330th Street. The owner was eventually located.
A resident in the 2300 block of X Avenue advised the Sheriff’s Office of a fraudulent check that he received in the mail asking him to cash the check and keep a small portion and send the rest to a given address. He stated that he did not comply with the demands of the sender.
A deputy and the sheriff, along with two Iowa State Troopers all responded to a fight in progress in the 700 block of Madison Street in Scranton. After an investigation, Jeannie Rebecca Gustoff 42, of Scranton was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Seth Michael Butler 28, of Scranton for Disorderly Conduct and Assault, a class D Felony and Donald Duane Daniel 42, also of Scranton was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Assault, a class D Felony, two counts.
A deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of Anyer Street in Dana for a runaway juvenile female. The juvenile was located the next day and transported to a youth shelter in Ames.
Saturday, August 30th
A deputy was dispatched to the 700 block of Eagle Street in Scranton to help resolve a verbal dispute between neighbors.
A deputy helped resolve a family altercation involving a juvenile and his parents at the Post Office in Rippey.
A deputy located and arrested Fredrick J Lonsdale 41, of Perry, Iowa, for a Probation Violation, three counts.
A deputy spoke with a resident in the 500 block of 12th Street in Grand Junction about a possible No Contact violation.
The animal control officer was unable to locate a reported dog running at large in the 1000 block of P Avenue.
Sunday, August 31st
A deputy spoke with the owner of a dog that was running at large in the 300 block of Hill Street in Churdan. The deputy advised the dog owner of the consequences of the dog running at large.
A deputy was advised of a vehicle experiencing mechanical problems along the roadway on Highway 30 near Scranton. The vehicle was later removed by the owner.
A deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of South 12 Street in Grand Junction to investigate the report of a No Contact violation. The deputy subsequently arrested Richard Tuhn 35, of Grand Junction for a Violation of a No Contact Order.
A deputy spoke with a Guthrie County resident about a civil issue he was experiencing in Greene County.
A deputy was unable to locate a reported vehicle pulling a trailer that was not compliant with state code.
A deputy checked a pickup truck that was experiencing mechanical problems at the boat ramp at McMahon Access. The vehicle was towed from the river area.
A deputy is investigating the illegal dumping of building materials that were being spilled from a small truck pulling a trailer on A Avenue near 170th Street.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
