An athlete from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Basketball team is being recognized as one of the top players in Iowa.

ADM junior Hudson Lorensen has been awarded the Class 3A Iowa Guard of the Year. During the 2024-25 season, he led the Tigers in scoring with 656 points on 54 percent shooting from the field, 42 percent from behind the arc, and 88 percent from the free throw line. In the regional championship game against Pella on March 3rd, Lorensen was able to hit the 1,000 point mark as he averaged approximately 25 points per game. Head Coach Trevor Mickelson relishes on the impressive milestone.

“A great accomplishment for him and a testament to how hard he works. He’s going to have an opportunity this next year to possibly become the school’s all-time leading scorer, and so we’re excited for that journey to continue for him.”

Mickelson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Lorensen was also named First Team Unanimous All-Conference in the Raccoon River as well as making the Class 3A All-Tournament Team. He’s ecstatic to bring a player of Lorensen’s caliber back to ADM for one more season.
