Now defending state champions, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs boys soccer team took the pitch last night for the first practice of the 2024-25 season. Head coach Collin Lane took the lead role for the Mustangs in 2018, and since then has helped guide the Mustangs into the boys state soccer tournament since. The Mustangs would win the state tournament last year in an emotional back and forth contest against Des Moines Hoover where the Mustangs would come out ahead 3-2 to win the Class 3A Boys Soccer Championship.
Coach Lane is excited for the new group of Mustangs on the team after graduating 8 seniors last season. “This year it’s all about the 24 jerseys, the 68 guys that we have in our program. It’s all about what we’re going to do this year in order to make sure that this group of guys sees the most success.”
The first practice of the season for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs boys was held last night as soccer at DCG is officially underway.
