With Hy-Vee Incorporated starting its construction soon in Jefferson, a few local faces have changed as part of the new management team.
Angie Nelson was the store director of the Hy-Vee Drugtown on the southwest corner of the downtown square in Jefferson and recently took on a new position as pharmacy supervisor for the northwest region which includes Jefferson.
The new store director is Lori Subbert from the Spirit Lake area. She has 16 years experience working for Hy-Vee and adds that when Hy-Vee’s new location opens in Jefferson, it will be her first store opening. However, she says she’s excited to get involved with the downtown area and describes her past experiences with Jefferson since her husband is from here.
“Came to a lot of the rodeos and that kind of dates me a little bit but when we used to have the rodeos for Bell Tower Days and loved it, it’s great. They put on great shows, they’re very involved in the community and everything around it so looking forward to being a huge part of it.”
Along with Subbert is a new pharmacy manager and recent graduate of Drake University in Erin Beardsley. She is from Estherville and just graduated with her pharmacy doctorate degree this past May. She talks about what she’s looking forward to in her new position in Jefferson.
“I’m also very excited to get back to a small town where I can get to know the community and be involved and really get to know everyone here that’s coming in to see us.”
At a town hall meeting on Monday, Subbert announced that the new Hy-Vee location on West Washington Street is scheduled to be open by spring of 2015.
