
The Adel City Council met in regular session on Tuesday.
According to Adel Mayor Jim Peters, the council set a public hearing relating to a proposal to delete Section 423 with storm shelters from the city’s building code for Tuesday, April 8th at 6pm.
He notes that items on the agenda that were approved included an application for voluntary annexation of land located south of Adel for the new Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School project, a resolution for a construction contract with Terracon Consultants Incorporated for the Wastewater Laboratory and Administration Building project in the amount of $1,124,000, a resolution to authorize city officials to proceed with transition of landfill property and operations to the City of Adel, and a resolution to authorize a facilities use agreement between the City of Adel and the ADM Youth Softball Association.
Peters adds additional items that were approved included an engineering services agreement between the City of Adel and McClure Engineering for the Adel Recreation Trail Connection project, the first amendment for the engineering services agreement to be used for the Adel Bailey’s Grove Channel Improvements project, a resolution for a master services agreement for engineering services with McClure Engineering, and a resolution to update the fiscal year 2024-25 subdivision fees for the City of Adel.
Peters explains that the council closed the regular meeting to enter into a closed session to discuss the review of the City Administrator Anthony Brown.
