The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday night.
The Council approved a renewal of a pre-treatment agreement and permit between Guthrie Center and Rose Acre Farms for discharge into the city’s sanitary sewer system. They also heard from Public Financial Management Representative Susanne Gerlach about services the company could provide the City, with no action taken on the item. The Council then heard from Streets Superintendent Darin Sloss, who shared that his department had removed all the dangerous trees in the right of ways around town, and that there is still a tree in the cemetery that they will take down in the spring.
Additionally, the Council approved a quote from Ziegler Equipment for a transfer screen that Sloss mentioned was needed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. City Clerk Kris Arrasmith then shared that City Hall will be organizing the citywide garage sales in June after much positive feedback from last year.
