District assignments were released for high school football last week. In this 5 part series, we will look at the 5 District games Perry will play this fall. Part 4 will feature a historical powerhouse.
Perry football will meet Harlan Community for a third straight year this fall. The two clubs will share a District for a second straight cycle. The Cyclones are a perfect 7-0 the past two decades against the Bluejays including winning the last three years. Perry fell last year 49-7 to Harlan. The Cyclones earned the 2 seed behind Nevada in the District and loss to Algona in the opening round of the playoffs. Harlan played in three straight title games from 2020 to 2022 and winning two championships during that stretch. They have 14 3A Football titles in their rich history.
The Bluejays and Cyclones share the 3A District 6 with Carroll, Creston, Greene County and Atlantic.
