Wrestling website IAwrestle named Greene County’s Brent Dennhardt to its All Senior Second Team at 157 lbs. Dennhardt won the 157 lbs. State title in Class 2A last month at the State Tournament in Des Moines. IAwrestle named a first, second, and third team comprised of only Iowa high school seniors at each of the 14 weight classes.

Dennhardt is the son of Mike and Heather Dennhardt of the rural Grand Junction/Rippey area. Brent went 29-2 as a senior and 110-15 for his three year career. Dennhardt missed his freshman wrestling season due to concussion issues, then qualified for State the next three years. He placed eighth at 145 lbs. as a sophomore, made the top 12 at 165 lbs. as a junior, before dropping down a weight class and winning it all as a senior.

Bas Diaz of Waverly-Shell Rock, the 3A champion, was on the first team.
