Friday, August 15th
Dispatchers from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office determined the owner of cattle that were reported along the roadway at 170th Street and D Avenue and advised him of the location of the cattle.
A deputy spoke with a Polk County resident about a civil issue concerning a Greene County resident.
A deputy removed debris from the roadway at the bridge construction site on Highway 30, east of Jefferson.
A deputy initiated an investigation into a reported auto theft in Grand Junction.
Saturday, August 16th
A deputy checked the report of either fireworks or a gun being discharged in the 800 block of Percival Street in Grand Junction. The deputy was not able to locate the male subject that was suspected.
A deputy and the sheriff performed traffic control on Highway 30 at Eaton Avenue for the annual Scranton tractor ride.
A deputy spoke with the owners of a vehicle that came to the Law Enforcement Center to report that they were involved in a hit and run accident on Quaker Avenue near 255th Street. The unknown vehicle was not located at that time.
A deputy was dispatched to a reported unresponsive driver parked on the roadway at V Avenue (P-46) near 330th Street. After an investigation, the deputy subsequently arrested Danny Lee Cannon 57, of Perry, Iowa, for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, 2nd Offense an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
A deputy spoke with a Grand Junction resident in the 900 block of Main Street about someone trespassing on his property.
A Grand Junction resident from the 700 Block of East Main Street in Grand Junction came to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center to speak with a deputy about a child custody civil issue.
A deputy investigated the report of 4-wheel ATV’s being ridden on the roadway in the 1800 block of 283rd Street. The deputy spoke with the three adults riding the ATV’s about the complaint and conducted field sobriety on each driver.
Sunday, August 17th
A deputy while on routine patrol, checked two male adults fishing along the river at Black’s Pits. The two were advised to pick up their litter before leaving the area.
A deputy was unable to locate a reported careless and erratic driver on Highway 30 near J Avenue.
A deputy assisted a female in the 1500 block of 235th Street that had fallen and was unable to get back up while doing yard work. She stated that she was not injured but just needed assistance in getting back into her house.
A deputy was asked to perform a welfare check on a female in the 1600 block of S Avenue, that was caring for her grandchild and the mother was not able to make contact with her mother. The two had made contact with each other before the deputy’s arrival and the grandmother and grandchild were found to be fine.
The animal control officer checked the report of dog running at large in the 300 block of Main Street in Grand Junction.
A deputy was dispatched to a rural residence in the 800 block of 260th Street for the report of a misplaced or stolen firearm. The owner later determined that the gun was misplaced and that it was in his possession.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants a presumed innocent until proven guilty.
