The horse barn at the Guthrie County Fair Grounds could look different if everything goes to plan in the next several months.

Guthrie County Fair Horse Supervisor Makenna Vais says that they are currently fundraising for a project that would see new stalls implemented in the 4-H and FFA Horse Barn on the fair grounds. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they are looking to do so.

“A lot of what we’re doing is just upgrading some facility stuff. A lot of it comes down to the safety aspect, both for the exhibitors and also for the general public when they’re coming out to support our group.”

Vais mentions that there is an account opened at Peoples Bank in Guthrie Center where those wanting to can donate to the project. She adds that they are hoping to raise the $25 thousand needed by June 1st in order to have enough time to put up the new paneling, which would include taller gates as well.
