An athlete from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Bowling team represented well in her debut appearance at the state tournament.

Freshman Alabama Astley was the only female for ADM to compete in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Class 2A State Bowling Championship on Tuesday. She bowled a total of 452 through three games with a 145, 148, and 159 respectively. Astley finished in 31st place ahead of Denison-Schleswig’s McKennon Olson, and was one of three freshmen who qualified to state in Class 2A.

After joining Waukee Schools for the past couple of years, ADM girls completed their inaugural season with a record of 4-7 overall (2-2 inside the Two Rivers Conference). The Tigers had 11 girls on their roster with nine freshmen and two sophomores, and were led by Head Coach Sarah Boesen.
