Everyone is invited to the continuation of the Greene County Extension Ag Coffee Series that takes place later this week.
Greene County Extension Director Jeff Lamoureux says February’s Ag Coffee is about “New Ag Tire Technology and Farm Tire Management” on Friday from 9:30-11am at the Extension Office in Jefferson. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that ISU Extension Field Agriculture Engineer Tony Mensing will lead the program and cover topics such as finding the right kinds of tires for your farm operation, looking at what is new in the ag tire industry, and how to manage old and new ag tires for maximum benefits.
Lamoureux gives credit to the main campus of ISU Extension for coming up with this newer topic to incorporate in Greene County’s long standing Ag Coffee Series.
“Tony Mensing had reached out to us and said this is something that he’s been working on or been approached by others to do it and asked if that was something that we wanted to provide. We said, ‘Yeah, absolutely!’ Again, something that we hadn’t thought of (and) probably wouldn’t have. That’s the advantage of working with Iowa State (University) and the experts there (and) letting them kind of help us gauge what topics we should offer for our residents here. So hopefully (we) get a good turnout for it. We hope that people come out and want to hear about that.”
Lamoureux adds that Friday’s program is free and is sponsored by Community State Bank.
