Earlier this month, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District hired a new 7th-12th grade activities director in Reece Satre.
Satre is from the Linn-Mar School District by Cedar Rapids where he’s been for the last eight years. During his time at Linn-Mar, Satre was a science teacher and coached football, baseball and track at different points over those years.
He talks about why he chose ADM High School.
“Had a list of schools that I was really interested in and ADM fit the bill for what I was looking at to kind of make the next step to transition into the activities administration area. It was just a great fit.”
Even though he’s heading into his first official activities director position, Satre says he has some experience at the AD position when he worked at Linn-Mar and he describes when he had to take over as a temporary fill-in as AD last winter.
“Kind of culminated here this last winter when my athletic director over there went into have double knee replacement (surgery) and so I took his stuff for the winter. So it’ll be my first official title of it but it’s not really anything its not really anything that I haven’t gone through.”
ADM’s previous AD Doug Gee took another job as a school administrator in another district.
Satre has been with the ADM district since August 1st.
