The Adel Public Library is hosting a program on Tuesday relating to a sport’s league for older adults.
The library is welcoming people over the age of 19 to come learn about the Granny Basketball League. Programming Specialist Lily Schwarz tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Sharee Lind, who is a member of the Granny Basketball League in Iowa, will be teaching participants the history of the club as well as the charitable organizations they serve. Schwarz explains that the league is for women 50 years and older, and that there are 52 teams across 10 states in the country.
She emphasizes that the program will focus on educating participants about the league itself and is happening inside the community room on Tuesday from 10-11am.
