A senior on the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Bowling team is hoping to carry over the lessons of the regular season to the conference meet tomorrow.
ADM’s Jaxson Book tells Raccoon Valley Radio that some of his goals coming into the season was to bowl over a 200 in a game, which he’s done, and get over a 400 series, which he accomplished during the Norwalk meet on February 1st, with a 427. The Tigers lost the initial three games of the year, before winning seven straight, and Book expresses that he believes that gave the team the assurance it needed.
“We kind of had the expectation that we were going to be pretty competitive pretty early, and so it felt good to finally start bowling how we knew we were capable of. So, stringing those (wins) off were really good for a lot of our confidence, and should help us leading us into this postseason push.”
Book credits Head Coach Jason Kilker for making minor adjustments to his technique and that he constantly encourages him to get better. He was inspired to join the team this year after a couple of his friends were on the Waukee team that ADM partnered with for the past several years. The Tigers are 7-4 overall (4-1; 3rd inside the Two Rivers Conference), with the meet happening at Statesman Lanes in Oskaloosa tomorrow, beginning at 9am.
