Perry boys wrestling traveled to Humboldt yesterday for Districts. Two Bluejays took second place and qualified for State. Ben Kusar came up one win short of winning the weight class of 138 to punch his ticket to State. Ben will be making his first appearance to Wells Fargo Arena for the State Competition. Another first timer will be Narciso Hidalgo, who finished second in the weight class of 285.
The Bluejays had some others who where close to qualifying. Thad Stewart (132) was close to qualifying as he finished 3rd. Townes WIlson (144) missed out on qualifying for a second straight year finishing in 4th. Also, finishing in 4th was Samuel Hernandez (175)
The 2A portion of the Iowa Boys State Wrestling Tournament begins Wednesday night at 6P. The Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will be live over the 4 days of the State competition.
