This year’s Linden Daze has the perfect theme ‘Join Us Under the Linden Tree’.

There are many ways that you can do your part to help Linden live up to their name. For one, the Linden Daze committee is going to be raffling off a handmade plaque that is appropriately titled ‘Join Us Under the Linden Tree’.

One other thing that is new this year, committee members will be taking orders for linden tree bare root plants that will be delivered in November. The cost of each plant is only $15.

According to Judy Hutchins, member of the Linden Daze committee, “that is why we are called Linden is because of the Linden trees that were here. There are a few still around town and we want to see if we can get them started back up and the new ones we are selling will help as a fundraiser for Linden Daze.”

The Linden tree is native throughout the state of Iowa however this is a great chance for you to make sure that Linden lives up to its name. Linden trees have an expected life of 60 to 80 years and if everyone that can buys a linden plant then future generations will know why Linden is called Linden.
