Another fall tradition in Perry will continue this year as residents gather together to try and put an end to hunger.
The Perry Area CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, September 21st. The two mile walk or twelve mile bike ride starts at 1pm in the north parking lot at the Dallas County Hospital and ends at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.
After the trek, participants will be able to enjoy food and music with fellow walkers and bikers.
Last year, around 130 CROP walkers raised more than $6,500 and this year they hope to be even more successful.
Anyone who can is encouraged to walk, otherwise encourage a friend or pledge to the cause. Participants are also asked to bring at least one nonperishable food item to the event for the local food pantry.
