A community contributor made a sizable donation to a non-profit organization in Jefferson.
Home State Bank President and CEO Bob Allen says they donated $17,500 to Jefferson Matters on Wednesday. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio $15,000 was the bank’s annual contribution to Jefferson Matters for them to utilize how they see fit for the year. Allen notes that $2,500 was to offset traveling expenses for key volunteers and individuals within the organization to head out to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the Main Street America annual conference in April.
Allen explains when Home State Bank learned that Jefferson Matters was selected as a semi-finalist for the Great American Main Street Award, they were wanting to help in some way, as Jefferson Matters is in the running to be named as one of three finalists in the country. Allen says Home State Bank is proud and grateful for the hard work and effort of the volunteers of the nonprofit organization, and their model of placing volunteers where they are passionate about is unmatched and definitely deserving of the honor of being a national semi-finalist.
