The Perry City Council met in regular session this past Monday.

The council set a public hearing relating to a franchise agreement with MidAmerican Energy for the next city council meeting on Tuesday, February 18th at 6pm in the Clarion Room of the Security Bank Building. This is due to Monday being President’s Day. Another public hearing was set for the same day regarding disposal of public property at 1624 West 3rd Street after the structure was involved in a fire. 

Items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution to adopt a revenue purpose statement for expenditure of fee revenues from a natural gas franchise fee for a total of four percent, a change order for the Frog Creek Restoration project that will lower the amount to $75,974, appointing Vicki Klein to a three year term as a board member for the New Parks and Recreation Advisory, and reappointing Marcus Carris for a six year term to the Water Board of Trustees.

Additional items on the agenda that were approved pertained to a resolution for an underground electric line easement for Alliant Energy to install underground infrastructure for better quality, a request for proposal to process the redevelopment of three properties that the City of Perry acquired through Iowa Code, and an agreement with Motorola Solutions for the Perry Police Department to provide necessary equipment and totals $90,000 over a five year period.
