The Adel City Council met in regular session on Monday.

The council was presented with the first draft of the fiscal year budget for 2025-26 between different departments. The Local Option Sales Tax projection for 2025-26 for the City of Adel is 1,822,730.78. The Adel Police Department is projecting $1,420,254, the fire department is at $273,611, the Adel Public Library totals out at $565,430, the parks department is projecting $930,897, the cemetery is at $83,270, the pool estimates out to be $405,018, and the recreation department amounts to $284,645, finance, which came out to a total of $505,602, zoning for $363,631, and, and public works for $2,660,196.

The only items the council approved during the meeting was a resolution of a Class C Retail Alcohol License for the Adel Family Fun Center and a resolution to appoint Anthony Brown and Brittany Sandquist as board representatives to the Mid-Iowa Planning Alliance for 2025.
