The leader of the Dallas County Conservation Board discusses moving into his new position.
Director Curt Cable has been in his new role for close to six months, taking over from Mike Wallace, who was the director for 22 years. Cable tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the transition is going smoothly as he credits the incredible staff members that he has around him. Cable has been with the conservation department for nine years, and says that being the director brings a new set of responsibilities.
“There’s obviously nuances to the director position that you get into that chair and realize that you have a little more to do than maybe you thought, but it’s been good and staff and everybody else has been great to work with, so not too bad.”
Cable started out as a Trails Manager in 2016, and then was promoted to the Deputy Director in 2020.
