The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.
The board continued a public hearing from last week that revolved around the final plat of the Woodward Farms. Supervisor Julia Helm wanted to gather more information after the public voiced their concerns that the county would disrupt the drainage system by diverting water lines and possibly interfering with easements. Helm acknowledged that she spoke with Dallas County Engineer Al Miller and Dallas County Auditor Todd Halbur to address these areas.
After discussing the matter with Miller and Halbur, Helm discovered that the county is going about the process in an appropriate manner and reassured the public that there are severe penalties for not complying with the Iowa code. She said that her questions were answered and then the board approved the resolution for the final plat of the Woodward Farms Plat One, following the hearing.
The only other items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution to reappoint the Dallas County Sheriff Deputies and setting up a bid letting date with the Iowa Department of Transportation for April 15th relating to the B Avenue bridge project in Dallas County Township in the amount of $550,000. The board then held budget workshops for Dallas County Emergency Medical Services and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
