The Chief Executive Officer of the Dallas County Hospital emphasizes areas of importance the organization will be striving to achieve in 2025.

CEO Angela Mortoza stresses that the hospital is focusing on keeping patients in town in order to avoid them driving far distances for medical care. She highlights that recently, the hospital brought on orthopedic physicians through Iowa Ortho. Mortoza notes other newer services the hospital has adopted are specializing in pain, urology, cardiology, pediatry, psychiatry, cardiac, and pulmonary. As for this year and in keeping with the goal of providing more services locally, she lists areas that the hospital wants to pursue this year.

“We’re exploring what it would look like to add endocrinology to our service lines. We’re going to continue to highlight our swing bed program, and I think the other thing that I’m really proud of here is our nurse to patient ratio. You get individualized care and more one-on-one care and I’m really proud of that and we have a lot of experienced nurses that provide that care.”

Mortoza is grateful that the hospital has been in a position to hire new doctors in a myriad of fields to better accommodate residents’ needs. She believes that the organization will continue advancing services that are suitable for a wider range of people.
