Last night the West Central Valley Wildcats traveled to Ogden High School for double header basketball action against the Bulldogs. West Central Valley split the decision with Ogden, as the Wildcat girls were able to come out fly through the Bulldogs picking up a 55-18 victory while the Wildcat boys would battle hard but would just fall short 48-43.

Everything seemed to be working right for the Wildcat girls since the opening tip off, as the Wildcat girls would score 16 points in each quarter in the first half, while the Wildcat defense would hold Ogden to only 2 points in the first. With the score at 32-12 coming back from the halftime break, the Wildcat defense would contain the Bulldogs holding them to only 3 points per quarter in the second half while scoring 23 points of their own to pick up a 55-18 victory.

The Wildcat boys match up was an incredible back and forth battle, with both teams refusing to give up on both sides of the ball. West Central Valley would pull away with the lead going into the halftime break, taking a 17-13 lead after both teams could only score 8 in the first quarter. The third quarter would continue to be a back and forth battle, with the lead changing three times in the third quarter but in the final moments of the third Ogden would begin to run away with the lead bringing the score to 32-24 to start the fourth. West Central Valley would continue to fight back but Ogden would hold on, picking up a 48-43 victory.

The Wildcat basketball teams are back in action on the road on Thursday as the Wildcats travel to Glidden-Ralston High School for a battle of the Wildcats. Girls basketball begins first with tip off at 6pm.
