An organization in Dallas County is widening a service they provide to the Perry community.
According to Minburn Communications, the internet provider is increasing fiber services in rural Perry, beginning this year. General Manager Douglas Pals confirms that the expansion is possible because of the Iowa Broadband Grant Program, which assists communities with underserved proper broadband. He indicates that the idea has been on the organization’s mind for a while, and now it can finally come to fruition.
“We couldn’t build it all at once, so now we’re to the point where we’re getting ready to build it in rural Perry, starting in spring. And so, right now, we wanted to start letting people know, so that they can start signing up, and that helps the whole process of construction, so when we’re building it, we can start to do the connection to homes at the same time. It just makes it much more efficient for the customers and for us.”
Pals describes that the project will be split up between the northside and southside of Highway 141. He informs residents that work this spring will continue into the 2026 construction season. He adds that the project will branch out to the communities of Adel and Dallas Center. To find out more information and to register, click here.
