The public is being asked to help with information about an investigation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in Dallas County.
DNR Conservation Officer Dustin Eighmy tells Raccoon Valley Radio he received a phone call this past Friday about five deer carcasses being found near a boat ramp to the Raccoon River off of Iowa HIgfhway 44. He received a call this past Friday and that there is evidence that the deer were shot during one of the deer hunting seasons. He details that there is evidence that the deer were shot during a hunting season. He says three of the deer were does and were gutted, but no meat was removed. The other two were bucks, were gutted and the antlers were removed.
Eighmy notes that the deer were found on the traveled portion of the roadway and illegal dumping of wild game with additional charges pending completion of investigation. He is asking for any information from the public, and they can remain anonymous and/or can fill out a form with the non-profit organization, Turn In Poaches (TIP), which gives reward money for credible information. Eighmy adds that people can contact himself via cell phone at 515-883-0228 or email at dustin.eighmy@dnr.iowa.gov. He says people can make anonymous reports to TIP for rewards anytime they find illegal issues with wild game.
