Woodbine won a Rolling Valley Activities Conference girl/boy basketball doubleheader from Paton-Churdan in Churdan on Friday night. The girls’ final was 50-11 and the boys’ score was 82-27.
Sophomore Alivya Smith scored all 11 points for the Rockets, who fell to 1-10 while thirteenh ranked Woodbine improved to 8-1. Katy Pryor of Woodbine led all scorers with 17 points. The Tigers led by a 36-5 margin at halftime.
The Rockets had won four of their previous five games and they fell to 5-5 while the Tigers, ranked fifth in Class 1A, improved to 8-1. Cayden Stream led the Rockets in scoring with 13 points, followed by eight from Trevon Keely. Coach Josh Cerveny reports Bryce Stephenson led the team in rebounding with seven, unofficially. The Tigers were up 55-13 at the half and they were led in scoring by Gunner Wagner with 22 points.
