Today youngsters will hit the basketball court for a chance to advance to a state level competition.

The Jefferson Elks Lodge #2306 is hosting the Northwest District Hoop Shoot Contest today at 10am at the Greene County Middle School gym. The first and second place finishers from the local contest this past December will be competing today from the Greene County and Paton-Chrudan School Districts, along with other competitors from the surrounding Elks Lodges.

Only the winners of each age and gender division will move onto the state contest that will be held in February. This is a free throw contest and whoever makes the most shoots out of 25 attempts will be declared the winner. See the full list of the competitors from the two local school districts.
