Applications are open for certain 4-H members to apply for State Project Awards.
Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that senior 4-H members, meaning those in grades 9-12 can, apply for these awards. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about the awards.
“What these State Project Awards are, they’re awarded to 4-H members who demonstrate leadership, communication and community involvement through activities, events and self-directed learning. These are all related to a specific project area.”
Savage mentions that up to 50 applicants per project area will be chosen to receive an award. She explains that it is a good opportunity for the senior 4-H members to showcase work that they’ve done in a project area from 2024. Savage adds that the application process includes a resume and cover letter, and that she will be hosting a workshop on Sunday beginning at noon at the Adair County Extension Office for any senior 4-H members in Adair County interested in applying, to help them work on those.
