Main Street Guthrie Center is looking forward to what they can do in 2025.
Director Lindsay Gilland says that the organization is happy with how things went in 2024, and is looking to continue the momentum they built and improve upon it. She explains that they plan to continue the big events they participated in, like Celebrate Guthrie Center, the Guthrie Center Farmers Market and Santa’s Village. Gilland tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there is also a different big topic that is being discussed as well.
“We will also be diving headfirst into the preservation of the Williams Building, and working hard on finding different avenues to offer new ideas for the historic building that is sitting right along our Main Street District. You can’t miss it. It’s three stories. It’s a beautiful building on the inside. We do have three businesses on the first floor, but we are looking at trying different ideas to help bring that building back to life.”
Gilland mentions that the Main Street Guthrie Center Board is also working on a project to highlight the community’s veterans and current service members, and that they hope to unveil that once more things are finalized in the next few months, and hopefully announce it by Memorial Day. She adds that the organization is excited to continue working with other organizations in the community to put on events for residents to enjoy, and provide opportunities for local businesses.
