Roland-Story (Story City) improved to 6-2 on the season and 4-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference basketball with a 59-14 victory over the Greene County girls in Jefferson on Saturday. The contest was originally scheduled for Dec. 20, but the Rams were short on players at that time. Coach Tori Ogden’s team played with seven on Saturday and the loss dropped the Rams to 0-8 overall and 0-5 in conference play. The Norsemen led 41-6 at the half with the running clock in effect the entire second half. Ten of the 11 players for R-S scored two or more points led by 10 each from Brinley Carlson and Alyssa Jones.
Greene County scored eight of its 14 points in the fourth quarter. Sara Morlan and Kaycee Pittman each had five points with four from Makenna Ebersole. The Rams unofficially had 14 of their 24 turnovers in the first quarter when R-S used a full court press.
