The Dallas County Conservation Board is hoping to raise money for local trails in the area.
Outreach Coordinator Jeni Baker tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the organization is fundraising money for their “Support the Trails of Dallas County” campaign that debuted in 2023 to encompass all of the trail projects. She says that during this year, the Dallas County Trails Association completed the nine-mile extension of the High Trestle Trail as well as finishing phases two and three of the rehabilitation plans on the south loop of the Raccoon River Valley Trail.
She welcomes people to donate any amount of money they can, as she points to last year accumulating $50,000. Baker reveals phase four of the south bridge project between Adel and Ortonville will begin construction in 2025, in order to make proper upgrades to remove asphalt and replace it with concrete.
