New information has been released regarding the alleged killing of a two-month-old baby in Paton.
According to court documents, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Greene County Ambulance responded to the call from 26-year-old Nolan Wilson about his baby not breathing at his home, 101 South Wise Street, in Paton at 4:43am on September 3rd. When crews arrived on the scene, the infant had passed away. Court documents show that Wilson told the dispatcher during the call that his child was in a baby swing and some time overnight, the baby stopped breathing and was cold to the touch.
During the investigation, the State Medical Examiner’s Office determined from the autopsy that the death was considered a homicide. The report shows that the cause of death was head injuries from blunt force trauma. Investigators found out that Wilson was the only care provider of the baby the 24 hours leading up to the death. The criminal complaint shows that Wilson was believed to have caused several injuries to the baby, including intentional serious head injuries.
Wilson was arrested on Thursday and charged with a Class A Felony for first degree murder, a Class B Felony for child endangerment resulting in death, along with a Class D Felony for domestic abuse assault by strangulation causing bodily injury. He was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
