A couple of students from Perry High School tallied a great finish in a statewide competition.
According to a press release from Des Moines Area Community College, Andy Schuttler and Jorden Newhouse placed sixth in the 33rd Annual DMACC/Iowa Automobile Dealers Association Automotive Skills Contest on December 13th in Ankeny. The competition recognizes individuals that are interested in auto mechanics and are given materials to showcase their skills.
The release notes Schuttler and Newhouse qualified in October by having the highest average of scores on a written test. There were 14 teams that participated in the competition with a total of $18,000 in equipment that was awarded to the contestants.
