The City of Perry was recently recognized for their work on the streets in town.

According to Perry Marketing and Engagement Coordinator Chris Cohea, the city was selected as the recipient of the 2024 Paving Program Award by the Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa. Cohea says the award is in recognition of Perry’s commitment to maintaining and improving its infrastructure, while providing safe and smooth roads for all drivers. 

During this year alone, the city did overlay new pavement on Willis Avenue to patch rough spots in the road to make for a comfortable ride. Cohea reveals that this is the first time that the City of Perry has been nominated for the award.
