Last night the West Central Valley Wildcats hosted the Des Moines Christian Lions and unfortunately both Wildcat teams fell to the Lions. The girls battled first falling 56-40 with the boys to follow falling 58-37.

For the girls, West Central Valley would battle but would find themselves behind the Lions throughout the match. The Wildcats would have a slow start but put up 11 points in the first, but the Lions would come out firing on all cylinders scoring 23 points. The Lions would continue to keep the momentum going into the half, scoring ten points while containing the Wildcats to 9 ending the first half at 33-19. In the second half the Lions would begin to walk away with the lead, scoring 20 points but West Central Valley began to find the basket scoring 14 points. West Central Valley would continue to battle, but would finish the match down by 16 falling to Des Moines Christian 56-40.

For the boys, the Wildcats would constantly stay right behind the Lions until the halftime break, as Des Moines Christian hit a last second three to bring the Lions up by four. With the score at 19-15, West Central Valley would continue to creep up on the Lions, scoring 6 points but only allowed 7 bringing the score to 26-17 with Des Moines Christian ahead. Coming back from the break the Lions would begin to run with the lead, while holding West Central Valley to only 9 points. With the score at 42-26, West Central Valley would battle but would find themselves short in the end, falling the the Lions 58-37.

The Wildcat girls fall to 2-3 while the boys fall to 1-3. The Wildcat basketball teams are back in action on Friday as they travel to Panorama High School to take on the Panthers.
