The City of Bayard has enacted a boil advisory until further notice.

City officials say that the reason for this is because of a break in one of the water lines. While the boil advisory is in effect, residents will need to boil any tap water they plan on consuming to avoid the possibility of drinking contaminants. Water is safe to use for bathing, showering and cleaning purposes. Once the city has the line repaired, separate samples of water must be submitted for testing until two consecutive samples come back clean.
