Perry basketball returns to action tonight for a doubleheader against Heart of Iowa Conference foe, PCM. The teams will take Dan Marburger Court at 6P for the girls game and the boys game will follow. The Jayettes come in 3-1 ahead of the matchup with number 9 ranked Mustangs, who are 5-0. On the boys side, Perry will look to stay perfect in conference play. The Bluejays are 3-0 including 2 wins in the Heart of Iowa Conference. PCM is 1-1 to begin the conference schedule.
Libby Winters, just a freshman, leads the girls squad in scoring with 12.6 ppg. The Mustangs have three girls in total averaging in double figures. PCM as a team is averaging 54 ppg. The Jayettes are managing 41 ppg. PCM has defeated the Jayettes in the last 4 matchups.
Geren Kenney has been on fire for the Bluejays to start the year. The senior is averaging 25.7 ppg. Coach Morris previews PCM. “You know, they came off a pretty good football performance this past season. So they might not be as in basketball shape as some of us are. So I see them getting better. They’re well coached. So defensively they do a couple different things like that 2-3 zone you and then they all do a three-quarter Court 1-2-2 so just making sure that we’re prepared for that.”
Tipoff is set for 6P and the Raccoon Valley Radio Network will have the broadcast at 5:45P.
