Day one of the two day Cliff Keen Independence Invitational Wrestling Tournament went well for Greene County. Head coach Kirk Davis took just seven boys to the 30 team event, but four of them qualified for today’s top bracket, the Gold bracket, through Friday’s round-robin competition. The Rams scored 76 points on Friday and were tied for 19th place going into today’s action.

Advancing to the Gold bracket were sophomore Brennan Jacobs at 106 lbs., sophomore Jaron Jacobs at 113 lbs., sophomore Degan Miller at 175 lbs., and senior Marcus Ball at 215 lbs. Senior Crew Conner at 150 lbs. and senior Gavyn Winters at 120 lbs. both were 2-1 on Friday and will be in today’s Silver bracket while sophomore Nemehiah Hoyt went 0-3.

The Rams had a combined 15-5 record on Friday with 11 falls.
