The Panorama Panthers girls basketball team officially kicked off their season last night against the Creston Panthers, and although Creston had the advantage of having two games already this season, Panorama defended their home and defeated Creston 63-51.
The Panther match up would go back and forth in the first quarter, with both teams refusing to quit. At one point tied at 11, Creston would gain the advantage ending the first quarter ahead 22-15. Panorama would begin to gain momentum, but would not be able to take control of the match up before halftime as Creston still head a 34-28 advantage going into the halftime break.
Coming back from the halftime break Panorama would come out motivated, and would begin to take the lead in the third quarter, scoring 16 points to take the lead over Creston 44-40. In the final minute and a half of the fourth quarter, Arilyan Steenblock would have a huge lay up for Panorama to secure a 63-51 victory over the Creston Panthers.
Panther girls basketball is in action again on Tuesday, as they face off against the Woodward-Granger Hawks in conference play.
