With Thanksgiving less than a week away, the Adel Parks and Recreation Department is doing a themed event today.
The organization is inviting children and adults to participate in the Thanksgiving Free Throw Turkey Toss. According to Recreation Supervisor Ramona Dillinger, the competition will be split up into five age divisions ranging from 8-18 years old. She mentions that teams will consist of two people within the same family, and one member has to be over the age of 18. Dillinger emphasizes that families exceeding a child can have one adult shoot with each child or two adults shoot with an individual child.
The winning team in each division will receive a gift certificate for a free turkey at Fareway in Adel. Dillinger adds that the program is free and doesn’t require registration. The turkey toss is happening inside the District Administration Center Gym this afternoon at 2pm. Any questions can be directed to the Adel Parks and Rec Department at (515)-993-4525.
