The West Central Valley Wildcats girls wrestling team officially kicked off their season on Monday after traveling to Panorama High School to take on Panorama, Martensdale-St Marys, and Southwest Valley/Lenox/Bedford.
It would come down to the wire, but the Wildcats would pick up a one point victory over the Martensdale-St Marys Blue Devils, 37-36. Bella Teague would pick up the first win for the Wildcats, before the Blue Devils would go on a four match win streak. Ori Meyers would swing momentum back towards the Wildcats, leading the charge for a five match win streak followed by Emma Sand, Kathleen Brown, Rhowen Miller and Willow Ray. These victories would push the Wildcats into the advantage, giving them the 37-36 victory over the Blue Devils.
The Wildcat girls are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Southwest Valley High School for the 2nd Annual Southwest Valley Girls Wrestling Tournament. The action is set to begin at 10am on Saturday.
