Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Basketball Coach Danielle Craig is settling into her new role as she is entering the first season leading the team.

Craig is beginning the 2024-25 season taking over the head coach position from Jacob Cleveland, who resigned following the end of the season last year. Craig was with ADM during the 2023-24 season as an assistant and before that, spent three years with Dike-New Hartford. She says that being around the girls last year has helped the comfortability level for the team. It’s been one week of practice, and Craig is loving the girls’ energy.

“I’ve been really impressed with the intensity and then also just (the) team leadership we’ve had together. We’re working on fundamentals a lot, installing new stuff and support for each other, so it’s been really impressive and exciting to see their energy (and) how they’ve been building it together.”

Craig acknowledges that the energy is helping create the right mindset of trying to improve on a daily basis. ADM will travel to Earlham tomorrow for a scrimmage at 6pm, then open the regular season up in Adel on Friday at 7pm versus Des Moines Christian. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
